The long awaited comeback of Whitney Houston is finally here. It is not easy for an artist to put it all together and make a comeback, but she has. We all have been waiting for her and rooting for her.

She has this unique cross over appeal enjoyed by artists such as Michael Jackson and was one of the first black female artists to find success on MTV. Her successes in the mid eighties paved the way for other female artists to have a shot at fame.

Whitney Houston has a rich musical pedigree. Daughter of Cissy Houston, cousin to Diane Warwick and Aretha Franklin as Godmother, she just could not escape the music in her genes. She exploded into the music limelight in 1985 with her debut album titled Whitney Houston. The second single from the album "You Give Good Love" became her first hit topping the R&B charts. The album itself became the best-selling album by a female artist. In 1987 she released a second album titled "Whitney" and it was the first album by a female artist to debut at number one on the Billboards album chart.

She became the first artist ever to have seven of her singles hit number one seven consecutive times. Whitney has also made several movies, her first being The Bodyguard, in which she paired with Kevin Costner. Her other movies include Waiting To Exhale, The Preachers Wife with Denzel Washington, and Cinderella in which she played the fairy Godmother. Her music is frequently included in the sound track of her movies giving her double exposure as an actress and a talented musician.

Whitney Houston is a gifted and hardworking singer and has extraordinary skills as a music hit maker. Know as "The Voice" for her powerful penetrating vocals, she has sold over 140 million albums in addition to 50 million singles worldwide. With Clive Davis once again by her side to guide her career, we hope to recapture those good moments in time once again. "Whitney we look to you," keep the candle burning strongly.
